Abstract

This little book has been written and illustrated by one of the greatest experts on Etruscan art, Professor Arvid Andren, in order to display how an art of higher quality was developed in Etruria, where natives were directly instructed in the workshops of immigrant Greek masters, and how Etruscan artists preferably working in clay, bronze and soft stone were able to produce works of peculiar attraction, and sometimes masterpieces, by combining animated Greek form with rude Etruscan expressiveness.
